Kyrgyz FM Kulubaev meets with Pakistani counterpart

Bishkek, July 30, 2022 . / Kabar / . Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbel Kulubaev met with Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as part of participation in the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Tashkent.

This is the first meeting of the foreign ministers of the two countries after their appointment as foreign ministers, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan, as well as issues of regional security and cooperation.

Kulubaev noted the need to bring bilateral relations between the countries to a new level, in this regard, invited the Pakistani side to jointly develop and sign the Program of Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan for the next five years.

Special attention was paid to cooperation in the energy, pharmaceutical and textile industries. In addition, the parties agreed to actively promote the work of relevant agencies of the two countries to promote the issue of removing medical schools in the Kyrgyz Republic from the list of undesirable universities in Pakistan.

In order to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the countries, the foreign ministers expressed readiness to hold a series of joint political, trade and economic and cultural events in the current anniversary year, and to consider the possibility of high-level visits to the capitals of the two countries, holding an intergovernmental commission in Bishkek, as well as political consultations between the foreign ministries of the Kyrgyz Republic and the IRP.
