Bishkek, Nov. 22, 2018. /Kabar/. Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov delivered his speech at the European Parliament in Brussels, before the deputies of the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
In his speech, Aidarbekov noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches particular importance to cooperation with the European Union and welcomes close cooperation with the EU.
Special emphasis was placed on the negotiation process between the Kyrgyz Republic and the EU on the draft of a new Agreement on expanded partnership and cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the EU.
In turn, the deputies of the European Parliament expressed support for democratic reforms implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic and readiness to strengthen the inter-parliamentary cooperation, and also supported further negotiations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the EU on the draft of the new agreement.
In addition, Aidarbekov met with Vice Chair of the European Parliament delegation for relations with Central Asia Laima Andrikiene and Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament Dan Preda on November 22 of this year, in the framework of his working visit to the EU institutions. During these meetings, issues of further enhancement of the cooperation between the EU and the Kyrgyz Republic were discussed.
