Kyrgyz FM meets with Azerbaijani Ambassador

Bishkek, Aug. 14, 2021 . / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev held a meeting with Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kyrgyzstan Hidayat Orujov.

The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that the sides discussed the results of Kazakbaev's visit to Baku on July 1-3, as well as initiatives of the Kyrgyz side to establish a strategic partnership between the two states, the establishment of the Interstate Council at the level of heads of states, the creation of the foreseeable future interregional platform "Central Asia - South Caucasus" (5+3) and the renewal of agreements on the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani Investment Fund.

In addition, the sides expressed their readiness to hold a meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between the countries in the fall of 2021.

Minister Kazakbaev informed about the internal political situation in the republic and the upcoming elections to the Jogorku Kenesh.

The minister and the ambassador expressed a common view on the need to implement joint projects, as well as to complete the construction of the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani Friendship Park and a general education school in Bishkek.

Ruslan Kazakbaev thanked the Azerbaijani side for the provided humanitarian aid in the form of 40 thousand doses of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine.

At the end of the meeting, the Kyrgyz minister invited Hidayat Orujov to visit the celebrations dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of Kyrgyzstan.
