Kyrgyz FM meets with executive secretary of UNECE

Bishkek, Nov. 24, 2023. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev met with the Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) Tatyana Molchan.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the meeting of the minister took place as part of a visit to Baku to participate in the Summit of the Heads of State of the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA).

Kulubaev expressed gratitude to the UNECE for the multilateral support of Kyrgyzstan. He noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is interested in continuing UNECE expert support in the development and implementation of strategic documents, programs, plans for export development, strengthening the capacity of trade support institutions (industry associations, business service providers). The minister also expressed interest in projects in the field of supporting and improving the skills of Kyrgyz exporters of clothing and agricultural products.

In addition, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic outlined the initiatives of President Sadyr Zhaparov in the field of environmental protection and sustainable mountain development and expressed a request for support in their practical implementation from the UNECE. He particularly focused on the possible assistance from the Commission in the implementation of the national campaign “Jashyl ​​Muras” initiated by the Head of State for the mass planting of green spaces throughout Kyrgyzstan.
