Kyrgyz FM meets with IOM representative in connection with completion of his mission

Bishkek, Sept. 4, 2024. / Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Subregional Representative of the International Organization for Migration Zeynal Hajiyev in connection with the completion of the mission.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues and trends in the development of the migration situation in the region and the country.

The foreign minister outlined the priorities of Kyrgyzstan in the field of migration policy, and also noted that the state is actively working to create favorable conditions for labor migration and strengthen the system for protecting their rights and interests of citizens abroad. At the same time, it was noted that Kyrgyzstan pays special attention to streamlining immigration, the issue of refugees in Kyrgyzstan, as well as issues of ensuring their social and legal protection in the country.

In turn, Zeynal Hajiyev thanked for the opportunity to hold the meeting and shared positive impressions of the work in the region. The IOM representative particularly emphasized the leading role of Kyrgyzstan in terms of the adoption of legislative acts in the area of ​​protecting the rights and interests of migrants, as well as their implementation. Following the meeting, the parties expressed hope for the continuation of further close cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and IOM.
