Bishkek, March 25, 2022 . / Kabar /. As part of the 48th session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers in Islamabad, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev met with OIC Secretary General Hussein Ibrahim Taha.
Kazakbaev once again congratulated Taha on his appointment as OIC Secretary General and wished him every success.
Noting the important internal political processes that took place in Kyrgyzstan in 2021, the Kyrgyz side expressed its gratitude to the OIC for sending its Observer Mission to the presidential and parliamentary elections, as well as to the referendum on the new Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Kyrgyz minister informed about the accreditation of Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Saudi Arabia Ulukbek Maripov as Plenipotentiary Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the OIC and expressed the hope for joint fruitful work.
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's membership of the OIC, Hussein Ibrahim Taha was invited to visit Kyrgyzstan.
Ruslan Kazakbaev proposed to organize in the republic international forums, dialogues and scientific conferences under the aegis of the OIC on topics on the agenda of humanity, namely international and regional security, fighting against contemporary challenges and threats, resolving cross-border disputes, etc.
In conclusion, the sides thanked for the meeting and congratulated each other with the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
