Bishkek, Dec. 22, 2023. / Kabar/. As part of the official visit to Tashkent, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev was received by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic said.
At the beginning of the conversation, Kulubaev conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov to Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the meeting, issues of further strengthening the Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and good neighborliness, as well as prospects for expanding practical interaction were discussed.
In this context, the importance of the practical implementation of the joint Practical Action Plan of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan (“Road Map”), which was signed following the state visit of the president of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan at the beginning of this year, was emphasized.
Particular attention is paid to taking effective measures to increase trade turnover, promoting promising projects in the field of trade, energy, transport and logistics, agriculture, livestock breeding, agricultural cooperation, textile industry and other sectors with the attraction of funding from the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund, as well as intensifying interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchange.
During the meeting, the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation in accordance with agreements at the highest level was noted with satisfaction. The volume of mutual trade is growing, the number of successful industrial cooperation projects is increasing, and active cultural and humanitarian exchanges are taking place within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries.
Mirziyoyev noted the special attitude towards the work of the writer and public figure Chingiz Aitmatov. It was emphasized that Aitmatov is an outstanding personality, the pride of not only the Kyrgyz, but also all Turkic peoples, including the people of Uzbekistan, of which he was a great friend. A new milestone in cooperation has been opened in the history of Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations, and the artistic legacy of the great writer acquires even more importance for the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan - in the year of his 95th anniversary.
An exchange of views on current aspects of regional cooperation and issues on the bilateral agenda also took place, and the schedule of upcoming events at the highest level was reviewed.
The president of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that the planned visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan in 2024 will serve to further strengthen bilateral relations.
