Bishkek, July 1, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan's Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov took part in an online high-level meeting of the Central Asia + USA cooperation format (C5+1), the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the U.S. Secretary of State also took part in the meeting.
The meeting discussed cooperation in ensuring economic stability and peacebuilding in Afghanistan.
Aidarbekov voiced Kyrgyzstan's national priorities in line with the agenda, suggesting strengthening practical cooperation in trade and economic sphere, both among the Central Asian countries themselves and in their relations with the US.
The Kyrgyz diplomat drew attention to the development of transit potential of the region. He stressed the priority of expanding international roads and railways, logistics centers and transport terminals, as well as upgrading infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted international transit.
Aidarbekov also noted the importance of implementing major infrastructure projects in the transport and communications sector, which would connect the Central Asian countries with world markets.
Delegations of the "C5+1" format countries were invited to participate in a number of international economic activities, which are planned to be held in Kyrgyzstan.
