Kyrgyz FM receives delegation of members of European Parliament

Bishkek, Dec. 19, 2023. / Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev received a delegation of members of the European Parliament who arrived in Bishkek to participate in the 16th meeting of the KR-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

At the beginning of the meeting, Kulubaev informed the members of the European Parliament about the democratic transformations, social and economic reforms being carried out in the republic, as well as national measures taken in connection with climate change, in particular, the implementation of the Zashyl Muras program. The Kyrgyz minister briefed European partners in detail on the results of the recently held second People's Kurultai.

In turn, members of the European Parliament noted the leading position of the Kyrgyz Republic in democratic processes in the region, and also expressed their opinion on the prospects for interaction between the Kyrgyz Republic and the EU, including within the framework of specific infrastructure projects.

The sides also exchanged views on the current state and prospects for mutual cooperation in the field of strengthening democratic institutions, ensuring human rights, implementing targeted projects in the fields of hydropower and water resources, and the green economy.
