Kyrgyz FM Ruslan Kazakbav receives new Ambassador of Turkey Ahmet Sadik Dogan

Bishkek, May 3, 2021. / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev received newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Kyrgyz Republic Ahmet Sadik Dogan, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.

The main purpose of the meeting was Dogan's presentation of copies of his Credentials, discussion of the prospects for bilateral strategic cooperation, including interaction within the framework of international organizations.

At the same time, Dogan expressed his deepest condolences to the people of Kyrgyzstan in connection with the events that occurred on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border on April 28-29, 2021, which resulted in human casualties. He conveyed the wishes of the leadership of Turkey for resilience and cohesion to the Kyrgyz people, as well as a speedy recovery to all the victims.

The minister informed the Turkish side of the tragic events that took place on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, as well as the details of the agreements reached at the highest and high levels between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan.

In terms of issues of bilateral cooperation, Kazakbaev, noting his deep interest in the comprehensive development of the established strategic cooperation with the fraternal Turkish Republic, expressed hope that the accreditation of Dogan as Ambassador of the Turkish Republic to the Kyrgyz Republic will serve as an impetus for the further development of bilateral cooperation on issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed issues of the current agenda of the Kyrgyz-Turkish strategic cooperation, outlined priority areas for effective interaction in the near, medium and long term.

The Turkish ambassador confirmed the deep interest of the Turkish side to further develop active cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. He noted the determination of Turkey to provide all-round assistance in the further socio-economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic, in particular, expressed readiness to restore the infrastructure of the region affected by the conflict.
