Kyrgyz FM takes part in OTS ministerial meeting in Istanbul

Bishkek, Oct. 17, 2022. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev took part in an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the member and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Istanbul.

The heads of the foreign ministries discussed topical issues on the agenda of the OTS, exchanged views on further joint efforts aimed at strengthening the position of the OTS in the international arena, the prospects for the development of the Organization and the creation of new institutions. In particular, the ministers discussed the adoption at the upcoming OTSSummit of the document "The OTS Strategy for 2022-2026", which is intended to become a "handbook" of cooperation between the Turkic countries for the next five years in politics, economics, culture, education and other areas.

During the meeting, the foreign ministers of the Turkic states exchanged views on current issues of regional security, as well as other trends in the development of global processes.

Kulubaev informed about the current situation, as well as the efforts made by the Kyrgyz Republic to achieve a peaceful settlement and reduce tension on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.

The sides paid attention to issues related to the preparation for the next OTS Summit, which will be held on November 11 this year in Samarkand city of Uzbekistan.
