Bishkek, May 5, 2018. / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldayev met with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon during his official visit to Tajikistan on May 4.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that during the conversation the whole complex of topical issues of bilateral relations, prospects of further development of cooperation in political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres was discussed. An exchange of views took place on cooperation in the joint counteraction against the threats of terrorism and extremism, on speeding up the process of delimitation of borders, solving water and energy issues, as well as the issues of interaction within regional and international organizations (UN, OSCE, CIS, CSTO, SCO).
During the conversation, Abdyldaev expressed gratitude for the opportunity to organize the meeting and conveyed the best wishes on behalf of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov. The minister stressed that both sides are actively working on implementing the agreements reached on the results of the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to Tajikistan in February 2018. He stressed that the development of bilateral relations with Tajikistan was and remains a priority of the foreign policy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed confidence that the existing friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will continue to serve as a basis for further mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthening of good-neighborliness.
