Bishkek, Jan.10, 2020. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan once again handed over protest note to the Tajik side, the press service of the Kyrgyz MFA said.
"In connection with the incident at the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the Kyrgyz State Border on the night of 9 to 10 Jan. 2020, Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov held a telephone conversation with his Tajik counterpart Sirodjiddin Muhriddin, during which concerns were expressed in connection with the use of firearms by citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as throwing stones at cars of Kyrgyz citizens,” the report says.
In addition, at the Ministry of Foreign affairs of Kyrgyzstan meeting was held with representative (consul) of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Kyrgyzstan.
The Tajik side once again received a protest note from the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry in connection with the ongoing destructive and provocative actions by citizens of Tajikistan, which lead to destabilization of the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border.
"Attention was drawn to the inadmissibility of such actions on the part of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan, and a demand was expressed to take immediate measures to avoid further aggravation of the situation and to bring to justice those responsible," the press service of the Kyrgyz MFA said.
On Jan. 10, 2020 at 1 a.m., unknown citizens of Tajikistan threw stones at the cars of two Kyrgyz citizens on the Osh-Batken-Isfana highway.
At 2:40 a.m. shots were fired at the section of the Kok-Tash border post in the Dakhma area from the Tajik human settlements, which forced the Kyrgyz side to begin evacuating women and children.
The shots were stopped at 8 a.m. According to official data, the situation at the station is now relatively stable.
