Bishkek, June 21, 2024. /Kabar/. First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev, as part of a working trip to the city of Frankfurt am Main (Germany), took part in the Kyrgyz-German business forum “Economy Day of Kyrgyzstan in Frankfurt am Main”.
In his report, the deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic arrived from the very heart of the Central Asian region - from Kyrgyzstan to one of the centers of financial and business life not only in Germany, but throughout the entire European continent - the city of Frankfurt am Main.
“We came to our old friends to think together about what we can and what we need to do to advance our bilateral partnership,” he said.
Adylbek Kasymaliev also added that over 32 years of mutual cooperation, German partners have implemented a number of socially significant projects in the Kyrgyz Republic, especially noting the opening of an anti-tuberculosis clinic and a perinatal center in Bishkek, built and equipped according to the most modern standards.
The first deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers dwelled in detail on the economic indicators between the two countries.
“The joint trade turnover over the past four years shows an increase of 5.5 times, including imports - almost 6 times. Also, more than 180 joint Kyrgyz-German enterprises operate in Kyrgyzstan,” he emphasized.
Afterwards, Kasymaliev spoke about the current situation in the country’s economy, noting that since 2020, Kyrgyzstan has moved from a cumbersome model of public administration to a more mobile and flexible one.
“This allowed us to better coordinate economic processes, quickly respond to the institutional needs of the business community and, most importantly, make decisions that are necessary for the country without delay. In recent years, the economy of Kyrgyzstan has demonstrated sustainable development, the average GDP growth rate was more than 7%, and in the first quarter of 2024, the rate of economic growth accelerated to 8.8%,” said the first deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and called on representatives of German business to participate in investment projects.
“The undertaken fiscal reforms made it possible to create in Kyrgyzstan the most liberal tax regime in Central Asia. German companies and entrepreneurs will be able to use all the opportunities available in Kyrgyzstan and actively invest in joint ventures,” Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized.
He also spoke about the implementation of strategic projects, such as the construction of a railway along the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan route and Kambarata HPP-1.
At the end of his speech, the deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers emphasized that the potential of mutual cooperation between the two countries has not been fully realized.
“Germany is one of the key partners in Europe, not only in politics, but also in trade and economic matters. I am confident that useful discussions will take place at this forum, new ideas and views on cooperation will emerge, and new prospects will arise for expanding Kyrgyz-German cooperation,” he concluded.
