Bishkek, Jan. 20, 2021. /Kabar/. Acting Prime Minister, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Artem Novikov held on Wednesday a meeting on the development of customs infrastructure, the Kyrgyz Government's press service said.
"We cannot justify delays in the construction and equipping of customs infrastructure to increase the volume of imports into the Kyrgyz Republic. A month and a half ago, when we considered the reasons for the decrease in the volume of freight traffic, instructions were given to build up infrastructure, build disinfection barriers, areas for transshipment of goods by cranes, develop mechanisms for full accounting of goods, including through the development of special customs and logistics areas, as well as development of airport infrastructure," the acting prime minister sressed.
Chairman of the republic's State Customs Service Kadyrzhan Semeteyev noted the plan for the development of customs infrastructure has been prepared, concluding contracts for the development of customs and logistics infrastructure is in final stage and appropriate projects will be launched soon.
Following the results of the meeting it was instructed to accelerate consultations with the Chinese side to complete the preparation of appropriate infrastructure to increase the number of transported vehicles up to 30 at the Irkeshtam checkpoint and up to 15 vehicles at the "Torugart" in the first phase.
In addition, it was instructed to prepare a plan for the development of the State Customs Service for 2021-2023.
