Bishkek, May 31, 2018. / Kabar /. Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zamirbek Askarov held a working meeting on the construction of an industrial and trade and logistics center in At-Bashi region of Naryn oblast.
During the meeting, the participants discussed problems related to the construction of the logistics center, the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported.
Askarov noted that there is a decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on allocating 200 hectares of land for the construction of a logistics center.
"The new logistics center will contribute to the development of small and medium-sized businesses and aims to create 3,000 new jobs. We need to attract investors to build a logistics center. An appropriate working group will be created to implement this project,” he said.
Following the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Investment Promotion and Protection Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic to step up efforts to attract investors and prepare a feasibility study for the project.
The main goals of creating an industrial-trade-logistics center are to improve the social and economic situation in the region and increase the welfare of the local population through the development of industrial, processing and agro-food sectors and transport and logistics infrastructure, and the growth of exports of agricultural and industrial goods.
