Bishkek, March 26, 2020 / Kabar /. Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Erkin Asrandiev at a briefing in the Government House spoke about the mechanisms involved in organizing tax holidays for business representatives who suffer economic losses in the conditions of the state of emergency.
He said that an anti-crisis plan is currently being developed, which provides support for business and a reduction in the negative impact on the country's economy.
“The day before, a meeting was held with the participation of the prime minister and relevant ministries and departments, where we familiarized ourselves with the final stage of this plan. This anti-crisis plan includes issues related to loans, taxes and economical assistance. In the near future, maybe tomorrow, we will give official information. However, we will not be able to repeat the experience of other countries, for example, Russia, Europe or Kazakhstan, because they have the financial capabilities to support the economy. They have a budget and reserve funds that allows to cancel taxes for a while. We are looking at all this and we need to soberly assess our financial capabilities,” said Asrandiev.
A state of emergency was introduced from March 25 to April 15 in the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Jalal-Abad, Nookat, Kara-Suu regions of Osh Oblast, as well as in Suzak region of Jalal-Abad Oblast.
To date, 44 confirmed cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection have been registered in Kyrgyzstan, 6 people are in serious condition and are in intensive care.
