Bishkek, Nov. 26, 2020. /Kabar/. Currently, the Government plans to purchase one CT scanner in each region.

According to Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Elvira Surabaldiyeva, donors have been identified for this purpose, the procurement process is ongoing.

"Questions arose on reducing the cost of computer tomography services. This problem is difficult to solve. The devices themselves are very expensive and brought by private entrepreneurs. In particular, the cost of one apparatus is about KGS 1.5 million and the transportation issue is even more complicated. Due to the growing demand for this device in the world, the factories have a deficit of production," noted the deputy prime minister.

According to Surabaldieyva’s data, there are 168 X-ray devices in the country.

"During the pandemic, the need for 73 apparatuses was identified, of which 22 were purchased. Another 40 units will arrive in December. 7 X-ray machines worth USD 68 thousand were purchased within the ERIK project. All devices were distributed throughout the country,” Elvira Surabaldiyeva added.
