Kyrgyz health minister on possible outbreak of COVID-19 after parliamentary elections

Bishkek, Nov. 15, 2021 . / Kabar / . Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishanaliev said the fourth outbreak of COVID-19 disease in Kyrgyzstan is expected following the parliamentary elections of the country.

During the TV program From Words to Deeds, the minister noted such a forecast is associated with violations during the campaign.

"We have repeatedly called on candidates not to hold mass meetings with the population or to hold them taking into account all sanitary norms: social distance and mask regime. However, the recommendations are still not fully implemented," Beishanaliev said.

In addition, the minister pointed out that currently the epidemiological situation is stable.

"We have successfully coped with 3 outbreaks, a slight seasonal increase was noted in late September - early October. The average increase in cases per day was 128 cases and 2-3 deaths. Thus, in general, the health care system of the Kyrgyz Republic today has some experience in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19. We conduct daily monitoring of the epidemic situation in the republic and in case of small outbreaks a group of doctors from Bishkek is sent to the places,” the health minister of Kyrgyzstan stated.
