Bishkek, Dec. 10, 2020. /Kabar/. At a Coordination Meeting on Combating Corruption on Thursday, Kyrgyzstan's Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliyev told about ongoing preparations for the possible growth of COVID-19 coronavirus infection in the country.
According to him, infectious disease hospitals have been built throughout the country, 9 hospitals have been reoriented. Of these, six hospitals have been completed and three have been suspended due to lack of funds. Acting Prime Minister of the republic Artem Novikov promised to allocate KGS 98 million, and these works will be completed soon. In total, there are 2500 beds in the country and 353 beds in Bishkek.
"Besides, 4 projects are currently functioning. Now we have received KGS 7 million for two projects. The rest of the projects are undergoing a tender process. All medicines and PPE were slightly delayed at the border, now the borders are open, and they began to arrive. I would also like to note that the 5th coronavirus infection control protocol has already been developed and we will soon start treatment according to it," the minister said.
Kyrgyzstan has reported 76,391 coronavirus cases so far, along with 68,894 recoveries and 1,306 deaths.
