Bishkek, June 4, 2020 / Kabar /. A meeting of Minister Sabirzhan Abdikarimov with coordinator of the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (TIKA) Ali Muslu was held today at the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, at the meeting, the sides discussed issues of temporary use of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship State Hospital as a hospital for receiving and treating patients with coronavirus infection and signed a protocol on transferring the hospital for temporary use amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our goal is to assist the people of Kyrgyzstan in obtaining quality medical care. This hospital is considered a gift to the Kyrgyz people. As you know, the hospital is fully equipped with the necessary medical equipment and, I think, will bring great help to the Kyrgyz people amid the coronavirus pandemic. We are glad that you started using it,” Ali Muslu said.
“Of course, we had intentions to hold an official hospital reception and transfer ceremony, but given the situation when the staff of the infectious diseases hospital has been working without respite for more than two months, we had to temporarily use it. We express our deep gratitude to the Turkish Government, my colleague Fakhrettin Koje, TIKA for supporting the Kyrgyz health sector during the fight against the pandemic. This hospital is being given to us for temporary use, and it will be very useful in treating patients,” Abdikarimov said.
