Bishkek, March 17, 2022. / Kabar /. The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan and WHO signed a two-year cooperation agreement for 2022-2023, the ministry reported.
Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev is on a working trip to Turkey from March 16 to March 19, where he takes part in a meeting on health and migration issues "Joint formation of the concept of protecting the health of refugees and migrants."
As part of this meeting, on March 16, the Kyrgyz minister met with Dr. Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe, where the parties signed a two-year agreement.
This Biennial Collaborative Agreement provides a practical framework for collaboration agreed upon through a process of consistent consultation between the national health authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic and the WHO Regional Office for Europe, and with the overall goal of achieving the “Joint Action for Better Health” objectives and the national health policy of the Kyrgyz Republic” , the ministry said.
Main priority areas of cooperation: Achieving universal health coverage (UHC), Protecting against health emergencies and promoting health and well-being.
At the meeting, the sides noted that, despite the progress made in the implementation of the previous agreement, a number of strategic challenges remain.
“Our challenge is to continue strengthening the capacity of primary health care, improving early detection and response to public health incidents through the implementation of digital solutions.
These tasks will allow us to effectively move forward towards ensuring a healthy life and improving well-being for all people of all ages,” said Alymkadyr Beishenaliev.
