Kyrgyzstan prepares for peak of COVID-19, deploys additional beds

Bishkek, Apr. 17, 2020. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan is preparing for the peak of COVID-19 disease, which is predicted Apr. 20-24, therefore additional beds have been deployed, Chief Sanitary Doctor and Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbayev told on Friday.

In this regard, the Ministry of Emergencies is taking measures to prepare conditions for the observations.

"I believe that the additional places deployed will be sufficient to cover people infected," Usenbayev said.

As of Apr. 17, another 23 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Kyrgyzstan, a total of 489, including 116 cases of infection among medical personnel.

A total of 114 people have recovered and discharged from hospitals.

Novel coronavirus claimed lives of 5 people.
