Kyrgyz Internal Ministry receives KGS 218 mln to pay compensation to militiamen

Bishkek, June 26, 2020. /Kabar/. KGS 218 million has been allocated to pay compensation to low enforcement officers who performed tasks in state of emergency, the press service of the Finance Minister said Friday.

According to the government order, the Interior Ministry submitted calculations for the allocation of funds for compensation to employees performing tasks under the state of emergency.

In its turn, in pursuance of this order, Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Finance allocated Thursday KGS 218 million to the system of the Interior Ministry, of which:

- KGS 209 were allocated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

- KGS 9 million - to the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after Major-General Aliyev.

On March 25, due to poor epidemiological situation because of COVID-19, a state of emergency was imposed in the cities of Bishkek, Osh, Dzhalal-Abad, Nookat and Kara-Suu regions of Osh Oblast and Suzak region of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast, and later was extended till Apr.15, 2020.

On May 10 this year it was lifted by Presidential Decree of Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
