Bishkek, March 21, 2020 / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Javad Zarif held a phone talks on March 20, 2020.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reports that during the conversation, Aidarbekov congratulated his Iranian counterpart on the Nooruz festival and wished to overcome all the difficulties that the Iranian people are facing now, and above all, in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic in the country.
Appreciating the assistance of the Iranian side in solving the problem of truck drivers of Kyrgyzstan in connection with the outbreak of coronavirus, Aidarbekov expressed gratitude to Zarif and also asked for assistance to some truck drivers of Kyrgyzstan who intend to leave Iran in the near future.
The Iranian foreign minister thanked for the support and confirmed the readiness of the Iranian side to develop bilateral cooperation, including in the joint fight against the global coronavirus pandemic.
Dozens of Kyrgyz citizens were quarantined on the Iran-Turkmenistan border. They have been there since February 18.
