Bishkek, Oct. 20, 2023. /Kabar/. Nurzhan Kasmalieva, journalist, head of the international department of Kabar News Agency has been awarded the prestigious the Silk Road Global News Awards 2023.
The awarding ceremony took place on the sidelines of the 2023 Media Cooperation Forum on Belt and Road, which was held in Beijing on October 19.
The Kyrgyz journalist won the award In-depth Reporting category for her article «China creates all conditions for transportation of passengers and goods”.
Speaking at the awarding ceremony as a representative of the In-depth Reporting Award, Kasmaieva highlighted the significance of the award for journalists and China.
“All of us can witness how the dynamic and interesting development of China is progressing today. Everyone is working within the framework of the One Belt - One Road initiative as it spreads inexorably throughout the world, and no one doubts its significance and benefits.The tremendous successes deserve to be highlighted across the world. Therefore, such competitions organized by China open a wide way for the dissemination of positive information across the world,” she said thanking the organizing committee of the competition for the appreciation of her work.
The Silk Road Global News Awards is launched and organized by the Belt and Road News Network (BRNN), whose council chair is the People’s Daily. It has been included in the List of Deliverables for the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
The esteemed award recognizes outstanding journalism and reporting on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and its global impact.
The First Silk Road Global News Awards presented six awards: In-depth Reporting Award, Commentary Award, Press Photo Award, Press Video Award, Short Video Award on the Fight against COVID-19 and Special Contribution Award. Among them, the Short Video Award on the Fight against COVID-19 was a special addition based on the global anti-pandemic efforts of the past two years.
The awards, designed to become a professional, authoritative, and globally influential news showcase, encourages media outlets in countries along the Belt and Road to learn from each other and pool their strength together. By recognizing the best news items, the awards highlight the stories of the Belt and Road and amplify the voices of countries and peoples along the Belt and Road, so as to promote high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road.
