Kyrgyz, Kazakh leaders discuss by phone situation in Korday District

Bishkek, Feb.10, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, Feb.10 Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held phone conversation.

Jeenbekov discussed with Tokayev the situation in Kazakhstan's Korday District, and expressed his words of support, his press service said.

On behalf of the Kyrgyz people, President Jeenbekov expressed condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the Korday District events, and wished a speedy recovery to the victims.

The Kyrgyz leader said Kyrgyzstan was historically helping and will continue to help the brotherly Kazakh people in difficult moments.

The two Presidents also discussed promising issues on the bilateral agenda.

According to Kazakhstani law enforcement agencies, a mass brawl between residents of Masanchi village, Korday District, Jambyl Region occurred on Feb.7.

“Police forces have localized the conflict and the situation is under control," the press service of the Jambyl Region Police Department said.
