Kyrgyz literature at IV Eurasian International Book Fair

Bishkek, May 3, 2019. / Kabar /. The IV Eurasian International Book Fair took place in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan) on Apr. 21-26.

This prestigious event was attended by over 50 leading publishing houses from all over the world. The best books of foreign classics and modern writers were presented to the readers. Within the framework of the exhibition-fair presentations of art, children's, popular science, political and economic books were held. The most cult books of modern authors aroused great interest. Discussion and presentation of books by contemporary authors, discussions and debates on the fate of reading books and their role in the modern world were held at the book fair. At the exhibition participants could get acquainted with the works of Kyrgyz writers, the organizers of the fair presented books translated into Kazakh language.

The Turkic Academy and the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan presented the Manas epic published in the Turkic Academy to a wide range of readers, as well as the best works of modern Kyrgyz writers.

In particular, Chingiz Aitmatov's Childhood book and Sultan Raev's Zhanzhaza (Kara) novel in Kazakh language aroused special interest.

In total, over one million books were presented at the IV Eurasian International Book Fair.
