Bishkek, Apr. 5, 2019. /Kabar/. The Cooperation Plan of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek was signed with the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2019 in the city of Bishkek.
During the event, Azamat Mambetov, State Secretary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations expressed gratitude to the Deputy Head of the OSCE Programme Office, Ambassador Valeriu Kiveri, for the fruitful cooperation and contribution of the OSCE to strengthening the ministry’s potential.
The purpose of the Cooperation Plan is to provide expert and institutional support for building the capacity of the MES of the Kyrgyz Republic in disaster risk reduction and radiation safety.
Various activities have been implemented jointly with the OSCE since 2009:
- the project “Enhancing disaster preparedness and capacity building of MES”;
- courses on the practical application of innovative technologies in the field of prevenion and early warning were conducted, training of specialists of a single duty dispatch system of regional level was conducted (Systems-112) in order to increase the level of preparedness of specialists of the Unified Information and Control Forecasting System, early warning, prevention and liquidation of emergency and crisis situations;
- various trips, visits and other events were organized in order to improve the classification of employees of the MES and introduce new methods, as well as to develop cooperation.
