Kyrgyz MFA awards doctors who arrived in country to combat COVID-19

Bishkek, Aug. 8, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz physicians, who arrived from Russia and Turkey have been awarded for their fight against COVID-19, the press service of Kyrgyzstan's Foreign Ministry said Saturday.

A solemn ceremony of presentation of departmental awards was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Kyrgyzstanis - physicians have arrived in the Motherland to assist health-care facilities to combat coronavirus pandemic.

The awards were presented by Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov.

He noted the invaluable contribution of doctors in the fight against the pandemic and highly appreciated the professional advice provided by them.

"At the height of the pandemic, you were working in the most difficult areas, providing medical care to more than 3,000 people, saving the lives of heavy and extremely heavy patients. All of you worked in the red zone, but apart from clinical treatment, you continued to share your experience and knowledge, training and inspiring local doctors at workshops and lectures. Without a doubt, you are heroes of our time," Aidarbekov was quoted by the Foreign Ministry as saying.
