Kyrgyz MFA delegation takes part in conference of EU and Central Asia special reps on Afghanistan

Tashkent, Feb. 23, 2022 . / Kabar / . A Kyrgyz delegation headed by Ambassador at Large, special representative of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Afghanistan Avazbek Atakhanov took part in a conference of special representatives of the European Union and Central Asian countries on Afghanistan held in Tashkent, Kabar News Agency has learnt from the press service of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Uzbekistan.

The conference participants discussed international and regional efforts for peaceful solution of the Afghan crisis, active involvement of Afghanistan in regional integration processes, economic rehabilitation of the country and implementation of various projects on its territory.

At the conference, the Kyrgyz side noted that Kyrgyzstan supports the continuation of interaction in the EU-CA format on Afghanistan, supports all efforts of countries and the international community to assist the Afghan people to overcome current problems and build a peaceful Afghanistan.

It was stressed that Kyrgyzstan was among the first states to provide humanitarian assistance and is preparing another batch.

In particular, given the complex situation in Afghanistan, which is close to a humanitarian catastrophe, the need was noted to cooperate constructively with the current Afghan government, assist in addressing social and economic problems, forming a representative government, and ensuring human rights, especially for women and girls.

"Kyrgyzstan calls on the world community to assist the Afghan people in the humanitarian sphere, in state building, integration of Afghanistan into regional cooperation and implementation of necessary economic and infrastructure projects. Only by extending a helping hand to the Afghan people is it possible to contribute to building a long-term peace in Afghanistan. Kyrgyzstan expresses its willingness to actively develop bilateral cooperation with Afghanistan," the report said.
