Bishkek, Feb.27, 2020./Kabar/. The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic is constantly monitoring the issue with regard to Kyrgyz citizens and their minor children, located in zones of terrorist activity and hostilities in the Syrian Arab Republic, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
The competent state bodies are conducting comprehensive and integrated work. In accordance with the Government's instructions, an interdepartmental working group on this issue has been set up from among the relevant competent bodies.
As part of the work of the working group, efforts are continuing to collect and analyse data on Kyrgyz citizens and the situation in prisons and camps in Syria, where there has recently been an increase in military action involving various disparate terrorist groups, which has significantly complicated the current situation in Syria and the region as a whole.
The difficult situation in the region does not yet allow for any measures to repatriate citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic from Syria.
The competent state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic are working together on the mentioned issues, including through existing links and contacts with partner states and international organizations.
