Kyrgyz MFA reports detention of Kyrgyzstani in Russia’s Sakhalin Oblast

Bishkek, Jan.23, 2025. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported the detention of a Kyrgyzstani in Sakhalin Oblast of Russia.

Russian law enforcement agencies detained 22-years-old citizen of Kyrgyzstan in the framework of a criminal case initiated under Part 1, p.264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The Chancellery of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk provided the necessary information to the law enforcement authorities of Russia.

A meeting with the relatives of the detainee was held and consular and legal assistance was provided.
