Bishkek, Aug. 27, 2020. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan is working to send Kyrgyz students abroad to study, the press service of the ministry reported Thursday.
Earlier, the media published an appeal of students who enrolled in universities abroad but cannot obtain visas. According to them, due to the absence of diplomatic missions of some European countries in Kyrgyzstan, they have to get visas in Almaty and Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan). However, they cannot enter there because the borders are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"On the basis of applications of Kyrgyz students who entered higher educational institutions of foreign countries, the Foreign Ministry is currently working on the inclusion of Kyrgyzstanis arriving in Kazakhstan and Russia on the issues of education, entry and obtaining (extension) of visas in the diplomatic missions and consular offices of foreign countries, in the order of crossing the state border for the period of quarantine restrictions," the report says.
Similar work is being done with respect to the entry into the territory of these states of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
"At present, the issue is under the control of the ministry and a decision is expected from Kazakhstan and Russia," the statement runs.
