The Internal Investigation Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic is conducting work to clean up its ranks and get rid of employees undermining the authority of the police, head of the Internal Investigation Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Talantbek Akmatov told at a press conference at the Kabar News Agency.
He said that no one can escape punishment. He noted that the position of the Ministry of Internal Affairs remains uncompromising in terms of combating corruption - the cases of violation of laws are identified and the perpetrators are brought to justice.
“The ongoing work is aimed at clearing the ranks of the internal affairs agencies from all sorts of traitors to the interests of the service, bribe takers, lawbreakers and other individuals that undermine the authority of the militia in the eyes of society and cause irreparable damage by their illegal actions,” Akmatov said
He said that 109 employees had been fired from the Ministry of Internal Affairs since the beginning of the year. In addition, 104 employees were dismissed with their posts being downgraded, 1,399 employees were punished for illegal actions and other misdemeanors. “59 criminal cases were also initiated, which involve 24 militiamen. Of these, 4 criminal cases are on bribe, 3 involve militia officers that engaged in robbery. And one criminal case was initiated against a militia officer on suspicion of drug trafficking, ” Akmatov said.
