Bishkek, April 9, 2022 / Kabar /. Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev met on April 8 with Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Cheng Shixin and ADB representatives.
During the meeting, issues of the energy sector and the development of a new country strategy for cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the ADB for 2022-2024 were discussed, the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The minister confirmed the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to provide all possible support to ongoing projects and programs in Kyrgyzstan. He also informed the delegation about the ongoing socio-economic reforms and the implementation of the medium-term national program for the development of the country.
In turn, Cheng Shixin noted that the purpose of the visit to Kyrgyzstan is to monitor ongoing projects in the country and participate in the International Energy Forum. He also noted the ADB's readiness to support the Kyrgyz Republic in the development of the energy sector. In particular, the introduction of smart meters, guarantees for private businesses in the implementation of PPP projects. At the same time, Cheng Shixin noted the potential for the development of renewable energy sources in the country.
In addition, the sides discussed the development of agriculture, public-private partnership projects, transport corridors and regional cooperation, as well as a number of planned projects.
In general, we agreed to further build up bilateral cooperation and implement joint projects.
