Bishkek, Feb. 20, 2019. /Kabar/. Minister of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Kashkar Dzhunushaliev is taking part in the 6th Ministerial Conference of the Budapest Process, which is taking place in Istanbul (Turkey) from February 19 to 21, 2019.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that the conference involves heads and representatives of ministries from 49 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa, as well as representatives of several international organizations.
The Budapest Process is a consultation forum consisting of more than fifty governmental and ten international organizations aimed at developing integrated and sustainable systems for orderly migration. It was created to disseminate as examples the best actions and knowledge in matters of migration, refugees, visas, human trafficking, migration smuggling and return of refugees.
Through this dialogue, an approach is developed that includes a common understanding of good governance, concepts of migration, and policies to combat uncontrolled migration.
At the opening of the conference, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a welcoming speech, noting the need for decisive measures to regulate migration processes, stressed the close connection between illegal migration and international terrorism.
“The time has come to improve the European migration policy,” Turkish Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu stated in his speech.
The Minister emphasized that today the problem of illegal migration is fueling other types of transnational crime such as international terrorism, extremism, human trafficking, drug trafficking and organized crime. In terrorist organizations under the guise of migrants, they are immersing their militants in the peaceful populations of countries to carry out their evil plans.
During the event, the majority of participants drew attention to the fact that the issue of regulating migration processes at the global level is a multifaceted need to ensure international security.
