Bishkek, Jan. 22, 2020. / Kabar /. Minister of Justice of Kyrgyzstan Marat Dzhamankulov and Ambassador of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic Shigeki Maeda.
At the meeting the sides discussed issues of further cooperation in the field of justice, as well as the development of the probation institution in the Kyrgyz Republic, the press service of the Ministry of Justice said.
Shigeki Maeda noted the importance of judicial reform in the Kyrgyz Republic, including the establishment of a probationary institution.
He also informed that the number of probation officers in Japan is more than 1,000 people, and the number of volunteers in this service is up to 45,000 people. At the same time, he noted that almost every Japanese citizen provides assistance to those who break the law, thereby contributing to their rehabilitation and return to society.
Dzhamankulov informed about the activities of the Probation Department under the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Center for Coordination of State Guaranteed Legal Aid, which were created as part of the judicial reform in the Kyrgyz Republic and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation in its implementation and support of these institutions.
