Bishkek, Oct. 26, 2017. /Kabar/. Official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ayimkan Kulukeyeva commented on the information of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan about a protest meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kyrgyzstan in connection with the situation on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.
The commentary of the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic says:
"The public of Kyrgyzstan closely follows the situation on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh and Russian-Kazakh borders, where since the beginning of October this year border, migration, customs, phytosanitary, veterinary and other types of control were strengthened, which directly affected Kyrgyz citizens and vehicles. The introduction of such measures does not correspond to the level of allied relations and strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, as well as the goals of the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union.
At the same time, it should be noted that each time the Kazakh side explains the reasons for tightening control at the borders, which are crossed by Kyrgyz citizens and vehicles.
Thus, on October 11 this year the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan stated that this is an exclusively planned border operation aimed at preventing illegal activities in the border area, identifying individuals involved in terrorist, smuggling and other criminal activities, checking compliance with the border regime and migration legislation.
It should be stressed that before October 11 this year the Kazakh side did not inform and did not comment on its actions to tighten all types of control over persons and vehicles crossing the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On October 14 this year Minister of Information and Communications of Kazkhstan D. Abaev, commenting on the situation on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border told media, that it is connected with the holding of the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan.
On October 15 of this year, on the Election Day in Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Information and Communication of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported that strengthening border control is related to the implementation of the EEU legislation with the aim of reducing the volume of “gray” imports.
Thus, it is the Kazakh side that incorrectly informs the public of both Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan about measures aimed at strengthening control when crossing the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan. "
