Bishkek, Feb. 21, 2019. /Kabar/. As part of the 6th Conference, Kashkar Dzhunushaliev met Program Manager for Borders and Visa Services of the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) Borut Eržen.
During the meeting, Borut Eržen provided insight into the activities of his organization in Kyrgyzstan, which has been carried out since 2004 through the BOMCA programme (Border Management Programme in Central Asia). Stressing that Kyrgyzstan is an active participant in all activities carried out by this organization, he noted that many BOMCA projects are closely related to transnational crime issues, such as human trafficking, illegal movement of people across borders and drug smuggling. In this context, he expressed his wishes for strengthening cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Dzhunushaliev expressed his gratitude to ICMPD for assistance in combating transnational crime in the Central Asian region. For his part, he noted the readiness of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan to consider further steps towards developing cooperation with BOMCA, taking into account common interests.
