Bishkek, July 19, 2018. / Kabar /. Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Ainura Altybaeva pushed for the death penalty for pedophiles speaking at a round table in Bishkek.
She said that in all countries there is family and gender violence.
"The important thing is how the state and society react to this. As early as the fifth convocation introduced changes to the laws on toughening the punishment of persons detained for family violence and pedophilia, the only issue, which was not adopted then was the issue of chemical castration. Deputies were ready to adopt this bill, however, medical experts said that this would not give the expected result. One of the reasons was the temporary effect of chemical castration and besides it is expensive," said Altybaeva.
She also added that pedophilia is a seasonal illness. In general, children from low-income families are subjected to sexual violence and more often by relatives themselves.
"I am in favor of the death penalty. Pedophiles should be punished, but judicial reforms and reforms in law enforcement agencies should be conducted," she said.
