Bishkek, Nov. 25, 2024. /Kabar/. Member of the Jogorku Kenesh Dastan Bekeshev took part in the 11th plenary session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace in Phnom Penh, the capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on November 24-25.
Bekeshev told that the international parliament is a unique platform that unites members of national assemblies, people's assemblies, and supreme councils from a large number of countries: from Malawi to Peru, from Malta to Nepal.
The opening ceremony of the 11th session was attended by Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Manet and his father, the first head of government of modern Cambodia, who made a huge contribution to the liberation of the country from the Khmer Rouge regime and to the cause of national reconciliation, Hun Sen, who currently holds the post of Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Cambodia.
Following the meetings, the Phnom Penh Declaration was adopted on the endorsement of the "Universal Charter of Peace: for People and Planet", in which the participants of the event confirmed their commitment to promoting peace initiatives and strengthening tolerance at the global level.
