Bishkek, Oct. 3, 2024. /Kabar/. Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh Zhanarbek Akaev and Daniyar Tolonov are taking part in the regular 22nd Autumn Meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA), which is held in Dublin (Republic of Ireland) Oct. 2 – 4, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported.
The event includes discussion sessions on the following topics: OSCE Conflict Cycle: Promoting Dialogue, Conflict Resolution, Mediation Support, Reconciliation and Post-Conflict Rehabilitation, Addressing the Climate Crisis: The Role of MPs in Implementing Global Commitments in the run-up to COP29, Improving Migration Management in the OSCE Region to Promote Sustainable Development.
In his speech, MP Zhanarbek Akaev emphasized that the Central Asian region is perceived by the world community as a single geo-economic space in which all forms of economic cooperation and interaction are successfully formed.
“Kyrgyzstan expresses its readiness to make its best contribution to maintaining peace and security through effective peacebuilding, respect for human rights and equal participation of women in peace processes, promotion and protection of interests of developing, small, least developed countries,” he said.
In turn, addressing the meeting, deputy Daniyar Tolonov touched upon the problems of the climate crisis and the role of deputies in the fulfillment of global commitments.
“The Kyrgyz Republic pays special attention to climate issues in the implementation of its national policy and based on the principles of green development sets the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050”, said Tolonov, inviting the participants of the Autumn Meeting to the Second Global Mountain Summit ‘Bishkek+25’ in 2027, which will summarize the results of the ‘Mountain Five Years’.
