Bishkek, Jan. 7, 2022. / Kabar /. Today, during an extraordinary meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the deputies decided to discuss the situation in Kazakhstan behind closed doors.
During the meeting, MPs must decide whether to send peacekeepers to a neighboring state or not. The heads of the power structures of the country will answer the questions of the deputies.
During the meeting, the head of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kamchybek Tashiev, said that Kyrgyzstan plans to send 150 military personnel, 8 units of armored vehicles and 11 vehicles.
Tashiev noted that the Kyrgyz peacekeepers will be involved only in the protection of strategically important facilities. “Our military will not participate in the internal conflicts of the neighboring country,” he said.
The protests in Kazakhstan, which began due to the rise in gas prices on Jan. 2, rose to mass disorders, looting, pogroms and casualties among the military personnel.
The government of Kazakhstan has resigned. A state of emergency was declared in the country.
Tokayev asked the CSTO to help. The Organization decided to send peacekeepers to the country.
