Kyrgyz MPs honor those killed during Aksy events

Bishkek, March 17, 2022 . / Kabar /. Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, led by Speaker Talant Mamytov, honored victims by laying flowers at the monument to the victims of the Aksy events of 2002 and the April 2010 events on the central Ala-Too Square.

Aksy events - the shooting of a demonstration by the local population of the village of Bospiek, Aksy region of Kyrgyzstan’s Jalal-Abad Oblast on March 17, 2002, who were protesting against the transfer of part of the Kyrgyz territories (90,000 hectares) to China.

Six people died as a result of the demonstration.
