Bishkek, Sept. 30, 2021 . / Kabar / . Jogorku Kenesh deputies Kanybek Imanaliyev, Beishenaly Nurdinov and Iskender Matraimov led by Speaker of the Parliament Talant Mamytov met with compatriots living in Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Kemerovo Regions of Russia, the pres service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported.
The speaker noted the significant contribution to Kyrgyzstan's economy of fellow citizens working abroad.
"In the future, we must make sure that every citizen of Kyrgyzstan can work in their homeland and be close to their families. This is one of our priorities," he said.
Talant Mamytov also reminded that a special council on migration, compatriots and diasporas abroad was created under the Jogorku Kenesh.
The meeting continued in a question-and-answer format, and the compatriots drew attention of the MPs s to a large layer of their concerns. In particular, they pointed out restrictions on money transfers and difficulties in crossing the border, while citizen Shailoobek Murzabekov voiced a request for assistance in creating conditions for teaching children in the Kyrgyz language.
Representative of the AK-Niyet association Gulbaira Suyunaliyeva asked to support the opening of cultural and educational institutions.
In turn, Speaker Mamytov noted the importance of these issues.
"The Jogorku Kenesh will take appropriate measures. We fully support opportunities to teach the native language, particularly to children. We are considering developing a special program in this area," he said.
Kyrgyzstanis also raised issues of dual citizenship, protection of the rights of migrant workers, exclusion from the "black list," improved medical care, and unimpeded participation in elections.
At the end of the meeting, some of them were awarded Certificates of Honor and Letters of Gratitude from the Jogorku Kenesh for their contribution to the protection of rights and legitimate interests of Kyrgyz citizens working in Russia.
