Bishkek, Jan.21, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz MPs ask to appoint a special representative of the Government on delimitation and demarcation of borders. This became known during the session of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security.
MP Iskhak Pirmatov said it is wrong that the post of the Government’s special representatives on border delimitation, which was previously occupied by Kurbanbai Iskandarov, is now vacant.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Jenish Razakov said the post is now combined by Director of the State Agency for Land Resources of the country Kanybek Botobayev.
"For 14 years now he has been dealing with issues of delimitation and demarcation of borders. He is aware of all historical negotiations," Razakov said, adding that a person will soon be appointed to the vacant position.
MP Zakir Sharapov asked for a new appointee as soon as possible, noting the director of the State Agency for Land Resources has enough work within the country.
Information on the results of the meeting of Kyrgyz and Tajik delegations to discuss border issues was heard today at the session of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security.

Note that another conflict occurred at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border on the night of 9-10 Jan.
Residents were throwing stones at each other. The situation is stable today, and authorities are holding talks to resolve the situation.
On Jan.14 Deputy PMs of Kyrgyzstan Jenish Razakov and Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim held meeting, which resulted in signing a relevant Protocol.
The meeting of the two countries' delegations was held as a result of negotiations between Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
