Kyrgyz National Bank sells $ 10.8 mln on stock exchange due to its growth

Bishkek, Nov. 6, 2018. /Kabar/. The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan held the first currency intervention in connection with the growth of the dollar. On November 5, the regulator sold $ 10 million 850 thousand on the market.

The dollar has risen slightly in Kyrgyzstan over the past few days.

The official exchange rate of the dollar as of November 6, set by the National Bank, is 69.83 soms.

As is known, interventions are conducted in order to smooth sharp fluctuations in the exchange rate. When the dollar exchange rate declines, the regulator buys the currency to meet the demand for it. If the rate rises, the National Bank sells the currency.
