Bishkek, Jan. 31, 2019. /Kabar/. The national team of Kyrgyzstan is preparing to compete in the qualifying round of the World Ice Hockey Championship in 2019 in Division III, Vice President of the Federation of this sport Elzar Bolotbekov told.
He said that the tournament will start on March 31 and will end on April 6 in the United Arab Emirates.
For the right to play in Group A of the third division of the 2020 World Cup, the team will meet with the tournament host – the UAE, Kuwait, Thailand, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hong Kong.
The decision to allow the team of the Kyrgyz Republic to be selected for the World Cup was made on May 18 at the annual congress of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) in Copenhagen.
