Members of extremist organization detained in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, March 1, 2018 / Kabar /. Citizens of one of Central Asian countries, members of a religious extremist organization were detained in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

"The employees of the SCNS of the Kyrgyz Republic in the course of counterterrorism measures to identify those involved in extremist activities and illegally staying on the territory of the country detained citizens from one of Central Asian countries who are adherent to one of the banned religious extremist organizations," the SCNS said.

These persons hiding from criminal prosecution arrived in the territory of Kyrgyzstan with a purpose of subsequent settling and propaganda of extremist ideology.

The detainees in accordance with the established procedure were handed over to representatives of the competent partner agencies for further involvement in relevant responsibility.
